Wild Basin is a closely held evergreen investment vehicle, founded in 2007 and based in Austin. Our structure gives us wide latitude in how we work with portfolio companies and lets us respond decisively when new opportunities emerge. We invest at the Seed, Series A, and Series B stages and reserve capital for follow-on through subsequent rounds, with particular emphasis on technology and tech-enabled businesses, where our experience and relationships run deepest.
Our aim is to support the strategic and financial decisions that help founders scale durable, high-growth companies. Rooted in Texas, we invest throughout the United States alongside venture firms, family offices, and founders.
Beyond direct investments, Wild Basin commits as a limited partner to select venture funds, which broaden our view across sectors and stages and deepen our relationships with other investors. These relationships sometimes surface co-investment opportunities, which we pursue selectively and underwrite with a direct investor's discipline. Fund investing is a deliberate part of how we operate, not a passive allocation.
The naming of Wild Basin Investments was inspired by the Wild Basin Wilderness Preserve, an Austin landmark whose founders included members of our principals' family. The connection reflects a commitment to stewardship and a long-term view.
Wild Basin operates in affiliation with Key Light Capital, the family's private investment office that pursues complementary strategies across public and alternative assets.
